Hortus Bionica is a series of installations as an artificial ecosystem, able to interfere in its surrounding to improve our habitat.
We received financial support from the Creative Industries Fund NL to further develop our ideas for adaptive textile structures by incorporating sensor and smart technologies i.c.w. SensorLab Utrecht. Under the name Hortus Bionica we will research and test different types of sensors to develop an organic, sustainable architecture. Like a living organism, the instalations of Hortus Bionica automatically react to outside stimuli to fold/unfold and contribute to an optimal indoor climate.
