The use of specially developed 3D double weaving and elastic textile techniques makes it possible to produce sliding door covers. The Japanese fusuma (sliding door) made of washi (wa=Japanese, shi=paper) served as inspiration for the covers. Using textile instead of paper provides a stronger, cleanable alternative with acoustic damping properties. Any abstract or defined pattern can be woven into the cover. These door covers are developed in collaboration with Next architects for a private residence in Amsterdam. material: textile; 50% cotton, 50% elastic custom made only The work for this client represents an abstract landscape as often depicted in Japanese paintings
